Developer Titan Wind Energy has tapped Vestas to supply 40 of its 2MW machines for a low- and medium-speed wind power project in eastern China.

The V110-2.0s for the development, near Heze in Shandong Province, will have hub heights of 137 metres, making them the tallest turbines installed so far in the country.

"For our first project in low- and medium-wind resource areas in eastern China, we believe that Vestas' rich experience in tall tower technology and its high-quality turbines will help us capture more wind energy, thus achieving competitive cost of energy," says Yan Junxu, chief executive of TWE, which previously manufactured towers for Vestas.
