EDP Renewables has withdrawn its application for the 250MW Number Nine wind project in Maine, in a setback for Spain’s Gamesa, which had been tapped to supply turbines.
Number Nine, located in Maine’s vast and remote Aroostook County, was dealt a heavy blow in October when the project and its associated transmission lines were not selected as winners in New England’s keenly watched renewables tender.
