Chinese groups China Three Gorges (CTG) and SDIC have thrown their hats into the ring for Canadian renewables developer Northland Power, it was reported today.

The two Chinese companies were among those to lodge bids in time for a deadline last week, said Bloomberg, citing unnamed sources close to the deal.

Northland in July announced a strategic review of its future plans, leading to speculation that the company could be acquired or attract a major new investor.
