Middle East-based construction giant Lamprell has landed the $225m job of fabricating 60 jackets for Iberdrola-owned ScottishPowerRenewables’ 714MW East Anglia 1 (EA1) wind farm in the UK North Sea.

The contractor will build the $3.1bn development’s three-legged steel foundations, which will stand over 65 metres tall and weigh more than 845 tonnes, at its Jebel Ali and Sharjah shipyards in the United Arab Emirates, with assembly taking place at the Harland & Woolf (H&W) facility in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
