An upcoming third round for fixed foundation offshore wind acreage off France could be larger than 1GW after the government announced the launch of a new tender near the island of Oléron in the Atlantic off Western France.
Energy minister Ségolène Royal in a release didn’t give any details about the size of the Oléron offshore zone, nor when the actual bidding round of the long-awaited third tender will be held.
