First power is flowing from Dong Energy’s 258MW Burbo Bank Extension (BBE) wind farm in the Irish Sea.
The development, being built around 32 MHI Vestas 8MW V164 turbines in their first commercial outing offshore, will once at full output provide enough capacity to meet the annual electricity demands of approximately 230,000 UK homes.
