Brazil has set 19 December as the date of this year’s solar and wind reserve tender, three days later than previously planned, and announced price caps of R$274 ($72) per MWh for wind and $320/MWh for solar.

Short delays in tender schedules are common in Brazil to allow more time for bidders to prepare themselves.

The tender will award contracts for new projects for July 2019, and will be the last opportunity for wind and solar developers to sell power in Brazil this year after the cancellation of a solar auction and wind developers declined to bid in an earlier tender.
