A majority in the Folketing, Denmark’s parliament, has approved the construction of the controversial 350MW near-shore projects that Swedish utility Vattenfall had won in recent tender.

Vattenfall in September secured the rights to develop and build the 170MW Vesterhav North and the 180MW Vesterhav South project off the west coast of the Danish region of Jutland with a winning bid of about €64 per megawatt hour.
