In August the specialist vessel Oleg Strashnov installed the project's 8,500-tonne substation, christened Andalusia, which arrived from Navantia's construction base in Puerto Real, Spain (see video below).
Iberdrola also took delivery of the first jacket foundations for the €1.4bn ($1.54bn) project, which were also produced by Navantia.
Wikinger is due online by the end of 2017 using 70 Adwen 5MW turbines at its site 30km off the German island of Rugen in the Baltic Sea.
