Enbridge will pay C$282m ($218m) for the half share in Eolien Maritime France (EMF) to develop the plants alongside EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN), the renewables-focused subsidiary of the French energy giant.

EMF is developing three wind farms awarded under the French government’s 2012 tenders – Eoliennes Offshore des Hautes Falaises (498MW) and Eoliennes Offshore du Calvados (450MW), both in the English Channel, and Parc du Banc de Guérande (480MW), sited off St Nazaire on the Atlantic coast.
