Broadwind – which counts turbine OEMs like GE and Siemens among its major customers – piled up losses in recent years due to uncertainty related to the wind production tax credit (PTC) as well problems of its own making, including production issues at its plant in Abilene, Texas.

But the Chicago-based company shrunk its net loss dramatically in the first quarter of 2016, and, aided by the multi-year PTC extension, appears to be on much stronger footing.
