The jobs charge is led by solar PV, which accounted for 2.8 million of the total by the end of last year, up 11% year-on-year. The global wind industry added 5% to reach 1.1 million jobs, said Irena’s Renewable Energy and Jobs – Annual Review 2016.
The industry body contrasted the growth in renewables jobs with a wider fall in energy industry employment.
