The project is being planned over three stages by developer Korea Offshore Wind Power (KOWP) in the Yellow Sea, 11km off the country’s western coast.

K2 will conduct yield assessments on a 60MW first phase, the Danish company said in a statement.

The consultancy will also review the production estimates and assumptions from the lender’s technical advisor to the project.

South Korea has long been seen as a promising offshore wind market that could help to kick-start the sector’s Asian growth beyond China, but its progress has so far been slow.
