Clean Line chief executive Michael Skelly calls the deal a “great step forward” for the proposed Grain Belt Express, which would flow 500MW of wind power from western Kansas to Missouri, and more eastward to Illinois and Indiana.
The Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission – which serves 67 municipalities through Missouri – concluded that the agreement with Clean Line along with a future wind PPA would save its ratepayers at least $10m each year.
