Dong – the global pacesetter in offshore wind development – said the project is expected to enter full service in the first half of 2019, taking it to 6.7GW of total installations in European seas, 1.35GW of it in Germany.
That means the Danish group will exceed the 6.5GW 2020 offshore target previously in place.
The wind farm will be sited 54km off Lower Saxony in water depths up to 30-metres, adjacent to the 312MW Borkum Riffgrund 1 development.
