Despite some positive aspects, the wind and solar sectors say changes to the Renewable Energies Act (EEG) and new legislation, WindSeeG, governing the support of offshore wind, passed by parliament today will be insufficient to achieve the country's climate targets.

The Bundestag — the lower house of parliament — approved a government proposal moving support for most renewables installations to tenders and using their volume to limit annual additions in the light of grid bottlenecks.
