ACWA Power will build Khalladi in a 75%/25% venture with the ARIF Investment Fund at a site in the north of Morocco, with power from the plant serving a number of industrial customers. Total investment needed to build the project is about $173m.
Khalladi is among the first privately-funded renewable energy plants to be developed in the North African nation, taking advantage of regulatory changes that allow projects to sell directly to grid-connected users.
