Reuters reported that Calgary-based Enbridge was competing with Australia’s Macquarie for the minority interest in the €2bn ($2.21bn) facility.
One of three people familiar with talks EnBW was reportedly having with the prospective buyers told the news agency that Enbridge was seen as the frontrunner.
“This story refers to unnamed contacts and is therefore market rumours on which we cannot comment,” Enbridge business communications manager Graham White said in an email to Recharge.
