Denmark’s energy minister, Lars Lilleholt, will visit Egypt this week with the intention of helping to seal the deal, Reuters reported.

Vestas expects to sign a co-operation agreement with the Egyptian government “shortly after the trip”, spokesman Michael Zarin was quoted as saying.

Vestas first confirmed it was in talks with the Egyptian government this spring.

A number of major renewables companies have signed deals to invest in Egypt in recent months, including China’s TBEA SunOasis and Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power.
