An announcement made this morning by the Danish ministry for energy, supply and climate confirmed that with a winning bid of DKr0.475/kWh ($0.071/kWh), Vattenfall secured rights to develop two sites of Vesterhav North (170MW) and Vesterhav South (180MW), located on Denmark’s west coast.

The price is considerably below the tender’s ceiling price of DKr0.70/kWh, and that of Vattenfall’s winning bid for the 400MW Horns Rev 3 of DKr0.77kr/kWh
