The past year has been a watershed. Capital commitments were sealed for the WindPlus consortium’s 25MW WindFloat Atlantic project off Portugal; Statoil cemented its final investment decision for the 30MW Buchan Deep off Scotland; while the last of three turbines at the Marubeni-led 14MW Fukushima Forward demonstrator was anchored off eastern Japan.
A further 11 flagship schemes — including two 24MW projects recently awarded by France — have also taken significant strides forward in the past six months.
