Brazil a key market this year for Portugal's EDP Renovaveis
EDP Renováveis added 120MW of wind capacity in the first nine months of 2016 in Brazil, accounting for 81% of the 148MW of new capacity the developer added world-wide in the same period.
The company concluded construction of the 120MW Baixa do Feijao onshore wind farm, the company said in report to the Portuguese securities and exchange commission. It now has 204MW in operation in Brazil, or about 2% of Brazil’s total installed wind capacity
In the same period, EDP completed a 24MW wind project in France and added 4MW of capacity to project in Portugal.
EDPR has a total operational capacity of 9.38GW, of which 4.94GW is in Europe and 4.23GW is in North America.
It is currently building another 127MW in Brazil, 200MW in Mexico, 429MW in the US and 32MW in Europe, according to the regulatory filing.
