Energize Ventures, a venture-capital fund focused on digital solutions for energy and industrial companies, and backed by major renewables players like Invenergy and GE Renewable Energy, closed its first fund with total capital commitments of $150m.

Energize was launched several years back as the Invenergy Future Fund, and the Chicago-based renewables developer remains a key operating partner. The change of name to Energize reflects the addition of other investors, among them GE-RE and GE Power, Schneider Electric, and the WEC Energy Group.
