Brazilian independent renewable energy company Omega Geração has agreed to buy a 50% stake in the 312MW Pirapora PV plant in South-Eastern Brazil for R$1.1bn ($290m) - its first venture into solar generation since it began operation in 2008.

The company expects to conclude the deal this year, which will include 30% equity participation held by EDR EN of France and 20% owned by Canadian Solar.
