International corporations have accounted for power purchase agreements (PPAs) totaling some 7.2GW of renewables to-date this year, far outpacing the record-setting 5.4GW tally set in 2017, according to the latest Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) Corporate Energy Market Outlook.
The US continued to lead the corporate renewable energy (CRE) pack, according to the 2H report, logging 4.2GW – or 60% – of global PPAs, with IT behemoth Facebook the largest buyer having signed deals for over 1.1GW
