Technology giant Apple has launched a $300m investment fund along with key suppliers in China to increase sourcing of renewable energy along its supply chain.

The China Clean Energy Fund – which Apple labelled a “first-of-its-kind” vehicle – will invest in and develop more than 1GW over the next four years, the US group said.

The fund will be managed by third-party sustainable investment specialist DWS Group.
