'New EU framework could spark a second solar boom'

After several month of intense negotiations, the European Parliament, the Council of the European Union and the European Commission have reached a final deal on the Renewable Energy Directive 2 (RED2).

This Directive is the cornerstone of the renewables regulatory framework for the next 10 years through to 2030. Thus, its importance cannot be understated. For the solar sector the first Renewable Energy Directive paved the way for the solar boom experienced in Europe over the past nine years.
