The Indian government has released its national policy for wind-solar hybrid plants, in a long-awaited move to spur dual-technology deployments to help meet the country’s stretching renewable energy ambitions.
India has long seen the potential for wind and solar to act as complementary generators, helping to smooth out each other’s intermittency, and maximising use of land and grid connection resources.
