New York state launched the second round in its planned series of large-scale renewables procurements, looking for 1.5 million MWh of renewable power annually from up to 20 projects that could be completed by November 2020.

The projects will be built towards New York’s 50% renewables target for 2030.

The bidding process will contain a number of new provisions compared to the first round – including requirements that all construction workers be paid the “applicable prevailing wage” and host communities be made “fully aware” of the development process.
