With financial support from the Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO), six companies and research institutes have started a project they hope will result in the world’s first offshore floating solar farm, taking a leap out to sea from the PV arrays already appearing on lakes and reservoirs around the globe.
Leading the project, Oceans of Energy, founded by Allard van Hoeken, is advancing work that if successful could use the space available between offshore wind turbines to boost output.
