Mexico has fired the starting pistol on a fourth auction to buy long-term power from wind, PV and other renewable and gas co-generation facilities starting from January 2021.

The government will publish draft tender rules for public consultation on 28 March, aiming to produce the final regulations by the end of May.

Bidders have to register their offers by mid-October, and the government hopes to publish the final tender results on 2 November and sign US dollar-denominated, 15-year PPAs by mid-February 2019.
