The US’ Fifth Third Bank has joined corporate renewable energy group RE100.
The financial services group will become the first RE100 member company to achieve 100% renewable electricity through a single solar power project, following signing of a PPA with SunEnergy for supply from an 80MW PV plant in North Carolina.
“This initiative affirms our bold commitment to advance environmental stewardship on behalf of customers, employees and shareholders,” said Fifth Third Bank chief executive Greg Carmichael.
