Spanish energy giant Iberdrola will invest €11.5bn ($14.2bn) in renewables over the period to 2022 as it targets capacity growth of 24% to 36.2GW, the company announced.

Unveiling its four-year strategic plan on Wednesday, Iberdrola said renewables including hydropower will account for 37% of its planned €32bn net investments over the period, with only networks taking a bigger slice at 50%.
