German utility Innogy will enter the Australian renewables market with the acquisition of 460MW of solar developments, and may take positions in onshore wind and storage there too.

Innogy – which has flagged renewables growth as one of its strategic priorities – agreed to acquire two PV projects in New South Wales from local developer Overland Sun Farming.

The German group said it will spend more than €400m ($492m) building the Limondale and Hillston projects, with construction due to begin soon.
