Spanish developer Acciona Energia has started construction of the 404MW Puerto Libertad solar PV project in Mexico, its largest fully-owned solar plant which will add to its 500MW operating wind power portfolio in the country.

The project will be built in partnership with local developer Tuto Energy. The first power is expected to be injected into the grid by the fourth quarter of 2018 and the whole plant is expected to be fully operational in the first quarter of 2019.
