UK upper house warns of risk to renewables from Brexit

The UK’s current “frictionless trade” in energy – including renewable energy – with the EU is being put at risk because of Brexit, warns the House of Lords’ EU Energy and Environment sub-committee in a report published today.

The committee, in the report entitled Brexit: Energy Security, points out that the EU is a key energy trading partner for the UK, supplying around 5% of the UK’s electricity and approximately 12% of its gas.
