Brazil has made a formal request to become a member of the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena), making it the third large Latin American nation to seek membership of the body in the past few years.
“As a member state, we can more actively participate around relevant themes of the international energy agenda, as well as allowing Brazil to take advantages of tools and initiatives developed by Irena,” said mines and energy minister Fernando Coelho Filho in a statement.
