The US wind industry sailed into 2017 with unprecedented policy certainty and big momentum as developers raced to make hay while the PTC sun was still shining.

After six weeks of nerve-jangling debate over the Republican tax overhaul, the picture remains largely the same for the wind business as it moves into 2018 – albeit with a bit less momentum, a little less room to manoeuvre financially, and the feeling that the post-PTC world has edged a bit closer.
