The design of Brazil’s tender and doubts about transmission grid expansion allowed solar PV to account for over 80% of new capacity contracted yesterday, as wind investors awaited better opportunities in a second tender that will be held on Wednesday.
“It was more about the rules than low demand or transmission lines which led to the results of the tender,” said Jean-Paul Prates, president of renewable energy think tankCerne.
