French state-controlled nuclear giant EDF from 2020 to 2035 via its renewables unit EDF Energies Nouvelles plans to develop and build 30GW in solar plants across France to help the country reduce nuclear power in its electricity mix to 50% from a current about 75%.

“The Solar Power Plan is of an unparalleled scale and marks a real turning point in EDF’s development of solar power capacity,” chief executive Jean-Bernard Lévy said.
