Dutch transmission system operator TenneT over the next 10 years expects to spend up to €6.5bn ($7.6bn) on the expansion of the electricity grid on land and at sea in the Netherlands, to make it fit for a rapid growth of wind and solar power.

The TSO plans to invest €3.5-4.5bn to upgrade the grid on land at the 380kV, 150kV and 110kV levels amid an ongoing onshore wind expansion, and the expected addition of an average of 1GW in PV installations per year through 2035, TenneT said.
