BMW Group at the COP23 UN climate conference in Bonn pledged to exclusively use renewable electricity from 2020 onwards, in order to move closer to a CO2-free production footprint.

The carmaker’s pledge comes just days after the Foundation 2° group of 52 major German businesses – including Siemens, EnBW and E.ON – urged parties in talks for a new conservative-liberal-Green coalition government in Berlin to speed up the country’s energy transition as a way to create reliable investment conditions.
