Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is contemplating a strategy-broadening push into the Chinese and Indian renewables markets, as it struggles to find enough big investment opportunities closer to home, a senior executive says.

Teachers’, among Canada's largest institutional investors, wants to expand renewables within its C$180bn ($141bn) investment portfolio, but suffers from a “lack of investable opportunities”, says Olivia Steedman, managing director for Greenfield Investments & Renewables.
