Six of Europe’s largest energy groups have warned that the European Union’s current renewables target “lacks ambition” and called on policy makers to adopt a more ambitious 35% target to be achieved by 2030.
A declaration calls on the EU to “seize the moment” and embrace a higher and more ambitious binding renewables target, unlocking the potential of electrification of the transport and heating sectors with cost-efficient renewable electricity.
