Australian renewables developer Windlab and Danish OEM Vestas have kicked off plans to build what is claimed to be the world’s first utility-scale, on-grid wind, solar and battery energy storage project.

The 60.2 MW Kennedy Energy Park phase I development, located in Flinders Shire in central north Queensland, Australia, will bolt together 43.2MW of Vestas' V136-3.6 wind turbines, a 15MW PV installation and a 2MW/4MWh Li-ion battery, all managed by a control system that will operate the hybrid power plant.
