The Scottish government plans to set up its own not-for-profit energy company based on renewables, said First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

The new entity will be set up by the end of 2021 to supply customers as "as close to cost price as possible" Sturgeon told a conference of the Scottish National Party (SNP), which runs the devolved government in the UK nation of five million people.
