US finds 'injury' from solar imports, opening door to PV tariffs

The U.S. International Trade Commission ruled Friday that imported solar equipment has caused “serious injury” to domestic manufacturers, siding with co-petitioners Suniva and SolarWorld, and moving the US renewables market significantly closer to the shockwave of solar tariffs.

With two of its commissioners having been appointed by Democratic presidents, the quasi-judicial ITC ruled unanimously, 4-0, in favour of Suniva and SolarWorld.
