Global financial institution Citigroup has become the latest corporation aiming to source 100% of its power from renewables by 2020, joining a growing list that includes international brands such as Google and Lego.

The pledge — part of a wider strategy to cut the environmental impact of its operations and finance $100bn in clean energy, infrastructure and technology projects unveiled at Climate Week NYC — comes as Citi, DBS Bank and investment giant JPMorgan Chase & Co announced they would join RE100, the global corporate renewable energy (CRE) initiative launched in 2014.
