Germany-based Innogy has entered the Irish wind market in the latest stage of a planned international expansion by the renewables-focused utility.

Innogy acquired the consented 10MW Dromadda Beg wind project in County Kerry for its Ireland debut, the first step in what it says will be future growth in the country’s “promising onshore market”.

The move across the Irish Sea is a “logical step” considering its long-established UK presence, the company added.
