Traditional power utilities have long been looking for a boost from the rise of electric vehicles (EVs). They shouldn’t get too excited, says Lynn Good, chief executive of Duke Energy, one of the largest US investor-owned utilities.
The impact from EVs “is positive and I think it will grow over time”, Good told analysts Friday, several weeks after Tesla’s first Model 3 EVs rolled off the assembly line.
